Bohol is located in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines, resting between Cebu in the west and Leyte in the northeast. The province of Bohol is made up of the main island itself together with numerous surrounding islets. Located in the south part, Bohol’s Panglao Island is also an established tourist destination in itself, not to mention a popular diving spot.

Bohol is the proud home of one of the most well-known natural wonder in the region, the Chocolate Hills. Aside from being endowed with the beauty of nature, Bohol also has rich cultural history. This is very evident in centuries-old Catholic churches that can be found throughout the province. Bohol is also the site of what is considered to be the first friendship treaty between the Philippines and Spain: the 16th century Sandugo or Blood Compact between Chieftain Datu Sikatuna and Spanish explorer Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.

Bohol can easily be reached by air via Tagbilaran Airport located at the heart of the capital city of Tagbilaran. Should one wish to reach Bohol by water, the Port of Tubigon which is the busiest among all the Bohol ports offers more than ten daily round trips across the Cebu-Bohol route.
